Recently I've been using the term "blind faith" (or any variation there of) to describe a bunch of things. In my book, blind faith is believing in a cause so much that you don't see the wrong in it. Obviously, 9/11 was the result of blind faith, but I'd also say that was blind, deaf, impotent, and autistic faith. The hijackers wholly believed that the U.S. is the devil and that their interpretation of the Quran was the only interpretation. Even kamikazes in WWII were blindly faithful to a de...
I'm so confused. I'm just a youngin', I'm too pretty. It all started back on those household numbers, 9/11. I didn't believe it at first. I didn't know how scary it was and how significant it was to actually be living a piece of history. I had always read about the Hindenburg, Kennedy assassination, and Titanic, but all the background screams and chaos meant nothing to me. After I cried and watched TV for days on end, I didn't know what to think. I was supportive of going over and getting ...
Well today was an overall discouraging day. Being that I live in a conservative county, I'm like an albino in Harlem. Word is leaking out at school about how "Andy supports Kerry" and "If you vote for Kerry, you're going to kill us all" (yes, I did hear that today). Anyway, today (like carebear said) we held a little presidential poll. The results were obvious before it even began, but all praises to our principal, he's such a great guy...yeah right. One person, who knows I'm a Democrat, made...
(Author's note: This article was intended to be an opinion article about the new Green Day album, but became an opinion article of another kind) That about says it all, american idiot. This website is driving me so far out of my mind. I'm a fish in a sea of sharks, I feel like a "closet queer" honestly, here and where I live, being a democrat on JU and in rural Ohio. Even my education is being compromised, little political snips and jabs here and there under the table (from both sides, ...
After watching Barack Obama's speech at the DNC, I have a renewed faith in the Democratic party and a new hope for SOME politicians. He believes America should not be divided into red and blue states, black and white, republican and democrat. We are the UNITED States of America, and I really think that's been lost on a lot of people during the election year. It was a refreshing speech, I do hope he is interested in running for President in the near future.
Link I know I'm a bit slow, but some of the comments made on this article are a joke. I'm specifically directing this at BakerStreet. Sam Edney hit on it a little bit, but I couldn't believe how Cheney was being defended because he "is a human being" and that everyone tells everyone else to "f*ck yourself". Yeah, he's a human being under a HUGE microscope on the biggest petri dish in the world. Obviously he IS human, but in the position he's in he needs to inhibit a little better. We'...
