I just finished reading this book a couple weeks ago; it's BY FAR the best book I've read thus far. It requires a lot of thought, but it's more thought than I put out anywhere else at school. I loved the way Card portrayed Ender's trouble at the school, he really made it seem like he had followed a kid who was going through hell at school. I love the way he was developed, Ender was a well-created character. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's delved into Ender's Game, hopefully someone ...

Damn thee Arm & Hammer! Damn you all to hell! That goes for the rest of you as well, you Crests and Aquafreshes. As I'm prepping my toothbrush for the nightly brushing, I squeeze the tube ever so slightly just to get the toothpaste on the stinking brush. Oh how careless I must have been! I manage to find the air bubble in every tube of toothpaste I've ever used. I don't know why it's there and why it isn't REMOVED before sent away to the consumers, but I hit that air pocket and lose a perf...

Less than four hours after I laud the fact that we have the week off of school, I screw mine up completely. I'm laid up completely for the next couple days possibly, and from any serious activity for the next couple weeks. After I got done writing my fair break article, I thought I'd go in and lift at the local friendly YMCA and shoot around in the gym a little. Wouldn't you know it, ALL ALONE in the gym, I roll my right ankle and hear a definite "pop". After writhing on the floor for a co...
A blessing and a curse: The Fairfield County Fair. To give you a little background, rural Ohio isn't very sophisticated. So it's fair time. The first thing that tells me is a week off of school. Back in the day, the amount of students with projects at the fair outnumbered the amount that didn't, so it was practical to take the entire week off. Right now, I don't think there are nearly as many students with projects, so it's a free week. Makes me happy. Gives me time to sleep, hang out with...
(Author's note: This article was intended to be an opinion article about the new Green Day album, but became an opinion article of another kind) That about says it all, american idiot. This website is driving me so far out of my mind. I'm a fish in a sea of sharks, I feel like a "closet queer" honestly, here and where I live, being a democrat on JU and in rural Ohio. Even my education is being compromised, little political snips and jabs here and there under the table (from both sides, ...
As I was dozing off behind the wheel, I was thinking, what if children were labelled by year? Sometimes you'll hear people say "Look at that! That's a nice '69 Mustang" or whatever, and I was wondering (in my half conscious stupor) why people don't say "Now there's a great '88 model athlete". Yeeeeaaahh, this idea was a lot more intriguing at 65 mi/h in a near sleep. Hard to follow when fully functional, but you know what? I want the points damn it. And I told myself at the time "This woul...
Some of my JU buddies on here might know, but I'm freshly single after a year and ten days. I'll give you a somewhat detailed rundown for anyone that's interested: Apparently, things were going downhill in our relationship, but I didn't notice anything. Anyway, two days before school, she calls me at about 9.45 and tells me, crying, that we'd be better as friends. Since this was a pretty big moment, I remembered a lot of what she said, stuff about "things getting too serious", "wanting to ...
It's recently came to my attention that someone very near and dear to me has been cutting down the carbs in her diet. I don't even think she needs to diet, but apparently she does and there's no stopping her. Anyway, I was wondering about the possible long-term effects of an extended low carb diet. I realize there hasn't been the opportunity to study the long term effects, as it's a new fad, but I've heard some not too flattering stories. Anyone who could help me out with some positives, n...
I've been tooling around JU for about the last hour or so, and I'd say most of the time my BP is higher than normal. All JU does for me anymore is get me ticked off. But rather than just reading comments without acknowledging the author, I've noticed that I argue with a user on one thread, but tolerate and agree with the same user in another thread, just one click away. In one instance, and the one that really prompted this article, was my stance with Little Whip. I felt I was on alright t...
After watching Barack Obama's speech at the DNC, I have a renewed faith in the Democratic party and a new hope for SOME politicians. He believes America should not be divided into red and blue states, black and white, republican and democrat. We are the UNITED States of America, and I really think that's been lost on a lot of people during the election year. It was a refreshing speech, I do hope he is interested in running for President in the near future.
How in bloody hell do I edit my favorites?!? I've done it before obviously but I have no idea how to get back to it. If there's an FAQ section where this would be answered, I'd be greatly obliged if I could kindly be pointed in it's direction so I don't make an idiot out of myself like this again.
Volunteers of America has got to be one of my favorite places to shop. I just got back not too long ago, I bought a long sleeve polo and some slim-fitting dress pants. Maybe it's just the indie rocker in me coming out, but I like dressing up really goofy. My brother got this really awesome multicolored long sleeve polo which I happened to be wearing right now. 5 minutes later (mom came home, had to show her the clothes), I changed into my other long sleeve polo and I have to admit it's pre...
Link I know I'm a bit slow, but some of the comments made on this article are a joke. I'm specifically directing this at BakerStreet. Sam Edney hit on it a little bit, but I couldn't believe how Cheney was being defended because he "is a human being" and that everyone tells everyone else to "f*ck yourself". Yeah, he's a human being under a HUGE microscope on the biggest petri dish in the world. Obviously he IS human, but in the position he's in he needs to inhibit a little better. We'...
